Mr TASSA Ivo TAWE was born in Mpeng Village of Menka, Widikum Sub-Division, Momo Division, North West Region of Cameroon. He went to Government School Mpeng for his elementary education where he obtained his First School Leaving Certificate (FSLC) in 1999. After elementary education, he moved to Government Bilingual High School, Bamenda where he obtained his GCE Ordinary Level in 2003 and further his Advanced Level in LCC Mankon, Bamenda in 2005.
In 2006, he gained admission into the University of Buea where he studied Geography and obtained his Bachelor of Science (BSc.) in 2009 and MSc. In 2013 with focus on Natural Resource Management. In 2016, he was admitted in the University of Yaoundé 1, where he studied and obtained a Ph.D. in Geography with specialisation in Environmental Dynamics and Risk Management.
Dr. Tassah Ivo Tawe is a Research Officer in the Department of Economics and Environmental Sciences, National Centre for Education, Ministry of Scientific Research and Innovation, Yaoundé Cameroon. He was recruited in January 2017 as a Research Assistant and two years later, he was promoted to the rank of a Research Officer in 2019.
He as published extensively in learned national and International Journals and Book chapters contributions. He is a Consultant on an International Project on ‘Mapping out options for a model legislation for improved sustainable soil management in Africa. He has been a member of many national government projects and a keynote speaker in National and International Workshops and conferences.
His research foci are environmental dynamics and risk management, forest cover transitions, land degradation dynamics and climate change with application of Geoinformatics.
